Located at 174 Fifth Avenue, opposite Manhattan’s Flatiron Building, Ryall Sheridan Architects is an open-plan studio which encourages collaborative work, education, and the exchange of ideas and experiences. Projects are typically done in small teams which stay together from inception to completion of all aspects of each job. Even the most junior members participate with client, contractor, and on-site meetings. Regular materials and methods seminars are convened to keep up to date with products and technologies, while everyone is expected to further their architectural knowledge by attending seminars, lectures, and by making architectural visits. In addition to offering its team members “normal benefits”, an architectural travel/research stipend and “mini-sabbatical” is provided after a two-year period. The travel stipend requires that travel be out the continental US and that a presentation to the office be made upon return.
